About the Desk Assistant jobs in Washington

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES of Desk Assistant

Support the assignment desk, editors, and show producers
Communicate between desk/control room/feeds room to coordinate operations
Track reporter hits, incoming scripts, and packages
Assist assignment editors on compiling & ingesting video from various agencies (AP, Reuters, etc.)
Monitor alerts on both traditional & social media for stories of interest

REQUIRED SKILLS for Desk Assistant :

Demonstrated interest in any of the core competencies related to the position, stemming from college or intern experience
Team player with clear and effective communication
Proactive in learning new skills
Understand deadlines and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Experience tracking down social media and various platforms for the best visual content
Flexibility working weekends, holidays, and evenings
