The Systems Administrator support the clinical systems in Theatres. The systems are supported by providing training and support to users, as well as generating activity and performance information.
The Systems Administrator supports the Managers in the day-to-day operations of the clinical systems, training and support to administrator / coordinator, users and the maintenance of the appropriate standards of quality and integrity in respect to data entered into the systems. They will also assist in procurement and upgrade projects and coordinating testing of systems administered by the team.
To carry out general office duties and provide admin assistance to the team.
Manage the user access and training elements of the clinical systems. To ensure access is controlled to the systems. ensure users are appropriately trained in the use of the systems, including updates and refresher training where necessary and to be aware of software updates. Improving current training practices and updating and adding training guides for users. guide and motivate the IT coordinator and raise any concerns with the line manager. ensure all users are of their responsibilities with regards to information, security, and confidentiality, with regards to Data Protection Act. monitor the quality of date recorded on the system, including undertaking audits. validate reports generated from the system and identify problems areas and address them. communicate systems upgrades resulting from policy changes and suppliers to all users throughout the trust. involved in the projects for upgrades of the systems and in purchasing of new systems. Take an active role in the development, implementation and continual review of local policies/ protocols and processes whilst minimising the impact on other systems. To deal with queries relating to the systems from all users, investigating data anomalies throughout the system to ensure consistency and accuracy, and undertake data cleansing where appropriate. To support and provide training to all users. To plan and organise own workload to work efficiently, meet deadlines and to be able to prioritise tasks and manage interruptions.
