About The Role

Food People is working with a semi-government entity in the UAE looking to onboard a Group Taxation Manager in their HQ to effectively plan, manage, control, and optimize Group and Divisional tax regimes according to regulatory and governance standards

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership concerning tax planning, compliance, and control across all company operations
• Manage compliance with tax law across the Group, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, PAYE, indirect taxes, indirect tax VAT & direct tax
• Identification and evaluation of tax risks and the deployment of efficiency mechanisms
• Implementation of systems and processes to monitor and mitigate identified taxation risks
• Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms
• Optimisation of taxation expenses by identifying areas of tax savings and integration of tax planning within strategy formulation
• Monitor current and impending legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management
• Create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all taxes
• Provide support with various internal audits and special tax-related projects

Key Ingredients

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, and a master's would be highly desirable
• Over 10 years of Taxation experience in the US/Asia/Europe in addition to the Middle East is required
• Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally and globally very often
• Strong stakeholder management skills with prior experience in reporting to senior leadership and external stakeholders
• Arabic is a plus
