The BMT Transplant assistant at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center reports to the BMT Director. They support the referral coordinators to manage more volume with medical records, path, radiology retrieval for new referrals, schedule appts/work-up testing for BMT/CAR-T patients, insurance packets, and bed reservations. Under indirect supervision, the BMT Transplant assistant offers individualized assistance to patients and caregivers to assist in overcoming healthcare system barriers. This role promotes informed decision making and timely access to quality patient care while providing a vital link in communication between multidisciplinary providers both internal and external to MUSC during initial treatment planning.

Job Description
The BMT Transplant Oncology Patient Care Coordinator reports to the HCC Oncology ICCE. Under general supervision, the BMT Transplant Oncology Patient Care Coordinator establishes, coordinates and performs all pre- and post-operative transplant incoming and outgoing communications, including obtaining clinical data from referring physicians, and maintenance of the BMT database. Assists with patient charts and scheduling appointments of transplant candidates/patients, and provides administrative support to transplant coordinators and, on occasion, transplant physicians.
Additional Job Description
Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree and one year work experience; or high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2 to 4 years work experience.
